2017 specification F1 aerodynamic design(Ver.2) by tw


Date of design: The period from January 9, 2017 to January 14, 2017.
Web release date: January 15, 2017.

F1 machine aerodynamic design / sketch of this year's specification by the author.
This printed out the author's F1 machine design template, sketched and scanned to the PC.
The green and blue lines in the figure below indicate the range of the bodywork regulation and the area of restriction.

The biggest point of attention this time is that the rear side of the side pod is lowered to the position of the drive shaft.
In this year's technical regulation, the lower wing of the rear is supposed to resurrect.
Therefore, the aerodynamically, the above design becomes indispensable.

From these things, the diffuser, the rear lower wing, and the rear upper wing cooperate, it is possible to suck out a large amount of air current at the bottom of the car body.
By accelerating the flow velocity on the bottom of the car body, the car body generates powerful downforce.

The front nose opened the "S duct" and aimed at activating the air current under the nose.

I have not memorized much of my past works, but this time the design of the car may be the fastest specification among the items according to the regulation of F1.
